Warhammer 40k - Is the new Blood Angels codex in ADDITION TO or INSTEAD OF the 5th Edition Space Marine Codex?

Players at my local comic shop say that commanders such as Dante and Mephiston may use abilities like Orbital Bombardment, but this is only mentioned in the Space Marine Codex. Also, many squads' stats differ between the two books.



I'd be totally stoked to have better Honor Guard and add invulnerable saves to Dante and Mephiston, as well as orbital bombardment :D

then he is playing it wrong. Blood angels are a completley seperate forces and all their units/ rules are contained in their own codex. Its just like dark angels and space wolves, they ahve their own seperate book and all details for that force therein.
