What company made it? Is this a model kit, a toy, what? More information is needed, please.

EDIT: Have you tried contacting Games Workshop directly? Many companies will happily send missing instructions if you ask them.

How to make a Space Marine cosplay suit?

I lost a bet about the World Cup and I've been dared to make a full space marine cosplay outfit by november, and to wear it for halloween. I'd prefer a Terminator or Devastator, but i can do with a standard Battle-brother with a bolter or chainsword/bolt pistol. I'd also prefer it to be Blood Angels, i want to make it, and ill buy one if i have to, but i cant find any. Im looking for a Guide, measurements, ext.

Do the codes for Space Marine only work if you pre order them?

I preordered Space Marine (xbox) at Gamestop yesterday and they told me it would come with a code for Space Wolves and Black Templars bonus armor. But I learned that that is you preorder at other stores, the bonus content is different (Bestbuy gives you Iron Warriors and Emperor's Children armor) Since this is the same company that made Darksiders I have this theory about the codes: When I preordered Darksiders, it came with a code to unlock the scythe. But all the code had you do was go in game and type in a cheat and it worked. However it was just a keyword so all someone had to do was go online and look up the code and type it in, so you didnt even need to preorder it. So is it necisarry to preorder the game or when it comes out will you jsut have to type in the codes in order for them to work? (I want to play with the Black Templars and Iron Warriors and both come in seperate preorder packs)Do the codes for Space Marine only work if you pre order them?
you would technically have to pre-order the game from both stores to get both codes. Because the only way to get the code for the game is to pre-order it. I pre-ordered at Gamestop because i love the Black Templars. The codes are only for promotional purposes and wont be available after the game is released on september 6th

Who would win between a Space Marine and a UNSC Spartan?

I know this is like comparing apples to oranges or in this case the Space Navy to the Space Marines, but its something you have to ponder none the less because its between two of the most popular games on console today. You have the smaller, faster, more agile, super human UNSC Spartans from Halo and you have the bulky, slower, equally super human warrior in the Space Marine. Both are equally skilled in weaponry and the armor seems about even between the 2 branches. So in a battle between David and Goliath, who would win? Who would win in a 1 on 1 match up and who would win in a war between the 2 branches *using all tech, vehicles and weapons both branches are capable of using in their arsenal* truly a gamers Deadliest WarriorWho would win between a Space Marine and a UNSC Spartan?
depends.. which Spartan? we dont know much about SPARTAN-IV yet. SPARTAN-II was the best. one S-II could easily take one Space Marine. you would probably need 2 SPARTAN-III's to take one, though.

who thumbed me down? you dont know what youre talking about...Who would win between a Space Marine and a UNSC Spartan?
I dont like either of the games or characters, but im sure the Space Marine would win. No offence Halo fanboys, but the Spartans sucked.Who would win between a Space Marine and a UNSC Spartan?
First of all, spartans get growth augmentations. If they survive it, they will get wicked strong. So I would say a spartan would win.

So space marine, Dead island, resistance 3?

Im a die hard Resistance fan! and a die hard zombie fan. Iv been waiting for Resistance 3 for a long time, love the story, love the MP. Insomniac is one of the best Game developers out there! Very creative! love their weapons. From the looks of it this game is going to be epic! lots of emotion, lots of action. If you played FoM and R2 then ill go with R3. If not then Dead Island for the hours of zombie killing goodness!! especially if you multiple friends getting it, nothing better than killing zombies with friends!! Im getting both been waiting for them for several years now. Space marine didnt get my attention.....

So... my first choice R3, 2nd Dead Island either choice will be great!!
Space Marine.

  • PS3 Resistance 3 or Warhammer 40k: Space Marine?

I've been debating trying to figure out which one of these two games I want to buy. According to the critics reviews Resistance 3 seems to be the all around better game, but it's also a FPS which makes it seem possibly a bit unoriginal. Warhammer 40K looks really fun hasn't gotten as good reviews. What's your guys' opinions. Which one should I get?PS3 Resistance 3 or Warhammer 40k: Space Marine?
the resistance series has been one of the MOST original FPS's on the arket, due to it's amazing weapons. which once again are the focus of the third game. though this one boasts production values the first two games just didn't have. from graphics, to scripting, to voice talent. resistance 3 is a smash. and it's very easy to get swept up in the online modes.

warhammer seems to be one of those sleepers, more than likely a rental, haven't heard anything in the way of replayability on that game.PS3 Resistance 3 or Warhammer 40k: Space Marine?
I would go with Resistance 3, unless you are a fan of Warhammer and want to play it in video game form.

Warhammer 40k - can I use a space marine captain model as Marneus Calgar?

I own a codex and am really interested in all of the HQ options for the space marines. I am low on funds and when playing with my friend I asked him if it was alright if I used a space marine captain as Marneus Calgar. I would use the correct point values and stats just using a space marine captain model to represent Calgar, as I don't have enough cash to afford the official miniature.

Although I allow him to use a shas 're as a shas o' he wont let me do something similar. I also was wondering if I could do the same thing with a Librarian and Tigurius?

He was being a total asshole about it too.

ThanksWarhammer 40k - can I use a space marine captain model as Marneus Calgar?
I would think most gamers have proxied (used another model, or toy, or counter, or empty soda can) to represent something else to try it out, or see how it works in their army.. sometimes whole armies are proxied. No gamer I know would have a problem with you doing it. It's a game of toy soldiers, it is supposed to be fun and you are supposed to pay it together and that is the view point Games Workshops games are written from. Tell him to stop being such a dick.Warhammer 40k - can I use a space marine captain model as Marneus Calgar?
Unless he is playing everything as what you see is what you get then you don't have to play what you see is what you get, as long as it is clear which model is which then it is fine.Warhammer 40k - can I use a space marine captain model as Marneus Calgar?

    Space Marine Painting Tips?

I just finished undercoating my entire Space Marine army (infantry), and have painted half with a color scheme that comes across as mediocre. Could anyone help me with incorporating the Star Trek (late DS9/ TNG movie) uniform color scheme into my army?

    Current scheme:

Face and shoulders: 50/50 mix of Chaos Black and Codex Grey, then light drybrush of grey over that

    Shoulder Trim: Codex Grey

Collar and wrists: Red, Yellow, Blue, or Green

Deciding on a Space Marine Chapter?

I have quite a few space marine models (unpainted) from before the 5th edition rules came out. Recently, I found them and want to get back into 40k. I am having problems deciding which Space Marine army to play as. I have been looking at the Black Templars, but have heard that their special rules limit the way that they can be played. Other than that, I have looked at the new SM codex and have considered Ultramarines or Crimson Fists, or perhaps creating my own chapter. What are the pros and cons of playing certain Chapters and why? What about the Black Templars? Thanks for your help.Deciding on a Space Marine Chapter?
Black Templars are mostly involved w/ CC, they're good (Not amazing, but good) and are not-so easy to play with at first.

For the normal codex chapters...Just...do NOT go with Ultramarines. Too many people over due that chapter. If you wish to do them anyways, they're basically a balanced army. They do well in both shooting/assault %26amp; CC. Crimson Fists, though, are more of a shooting army, + their Sternguard veterens are scoring units, which means they can capture objectives just like troops.

    Other chapters:

Space Wolves - Actually, Space Wolves can excel in either Assaulting/CC, or shooting. They're a good chapter, and their getting a new codex later this year.

Dark Angels - Shooting army, with a lot of Plasma weapons. You can also go Deathwing or Ravenwing (All Terminators, or all Speeders %26amp; Bikes, which, count as troops)

Blood Angels - A very, very, CC/Assault-based army. You can take assault squads as troops.

White Scars %26amp; Raven Guard - White Scars prefer mounting their troops on bikes, which, if you take a Captain on a bike, you can take Bike squads as troops. Tactical squads also should be taken in Rhinos. Ravenguard are good at Close CC/Shooting/Assault. Use a lot of Assault Squads, and Scout Squads.

Salamanders %26amp; Imperial Fists - Both are good at anti-tank. Salamanders use mostly Flamers, Multi-Meltas/Meltaguns, and Thunderhammers. Imperial Fists use a lot of Vindicators %26amp; bring in a lot of Lascannons.

Hope that helped! Email me if you have any other questions.Deciding on a Space Marine Chapter?

I don't think anarchy is something the Imperium would be happy with. Fine, call your chapter whatever you want, but in my opinion any Space Marine chapter using a name like that is asking for trouble.

Don't forget that the Imperium is a very controlled, regulated fascist state. Anarchy is NOT something they'd endorse under any circumstances.

The new 2007 warhammer 40k chaos space marine codex.. whats different?

i have 7000 points of chaos space marines, 1 lunar wolves army, 1 khorne army, and one chaos undivided army, i have been out of gaming for 2 years and all of a sudden people are clamering over my army asking if "i really need 90 berzerkers" and "are you ever going to use those obliterators" .. whats happened????The new 2007 warhammer 40k chaos space marine codex.. whats different?
Well, marks have changed. a lot of point cost changes. Oblits are now heavies. Demon princes cant have demon weapons anymore. No more nurglings. basically everything was streamlined and made easier to build your army faster. Raptors rock, khorne is still tough, thousand suns are nice and ahriman is a beast. If you plan on playing the game again go spend the 20 bucks and get the dex becaus the old one phases out of tournament play at the end of this month. If your looking to unload any figures e-mail me and lets do some dealing because I am making a new chaos force. The new 2007 warhammer 40k chaos space marine codex.. whats different?
well what they said is true. but the basic is this. the new codex is more troop orianted rather then vehicle . which was a little dispointing for me as i used a mechanized Chaos force.(they took away all the chaos vehicle upgrades and gave us the basic space marine stuff minus any of the nice marine upgrades, though you can put possession on any unit now along havok launchers) also from what i can tell all chaos troops now come fully decked out in gear and the choice options are much easier to work with making a army easy a quick to make (I had to make a army in less then 20 minutes from scrach converting from the 3rd edition codex)The new 2007 warhammer 40k chaos space marine codex.. whats different?
actually your not bad off. Khorne berserkers stay as troop choices. codex daemons should be out sometime in the next year or so, and your lunar wolves/black legion/chaos undivided forces are now the center of the new codex. and with the new Apocalypse expansion you can Field all those troops at once.

    Edward Cullen vs. Space Marine?

I was having a really long argument with my sister about who would win in a fight. She reads the Twilight books, so of course she thinks that Edward(or any other vampire or werewolf from that book) could beat a space marine. So who do you guys think would win? I bet a whole lot of girls will answer this question and say something along the lines of "Edward will win, he is so hot" or something stupid like that without ever actually thinking about the question. If you dont know what a space marine is you can look them up on wikipedia or a wikia for Warhammer 40000(40k). Please be realistic and dont say one side would win just because you like them more. This is not a popularity question, but an actual who would win in a fight type thing. Say who and also state why. Consider both people and both of their powers. By the way it doesnt matter which Space Marine Chapter he fights, just a basic(whichever) single space marine.Edward Cullen vs. Space Marine?
i am not gonna say that twilight sucks or space marine

sucks. i'll just answer your question

from what i read, the space marine people are basically just super soldiers.

i think that in this case edward would have the advantage

since he is bullet-proof and nothing could break his skin

    except vampire teeth and werewolves.

plus he could read minds, and he uses that power to

see what his enemy is about to do.

as much i would not want him to win, i think he would

since all the soldiers can do to him is probably hurt,

    but not destroy him.

    :D
Ehh dude as for ur question its very hard to answer. its because of the space marine rank problem. Edward can beat a scout, hes equal with a normal marine but hes no match against brother sergeants or captain. A libarian or champion marine can eat edward cullen for dinner. FOR THE EMPORER!

I just shook my head when I saw this even as a question. Really... you had the thought that Edward Cullen could take on a Space Marine? Considering that Space Marines fight aliens that have 2m long sharp teeth, they can beat something that has jut two wimpy fangs.

And obviously this was a one sided question, since you probably have never read the Horus Heresy novels. Trust me read just one book and you will understand your own stupidity for asking this question.

Obviously Space Marine. Edward Cullen wouldn't stand a chance against any real superhero or supervillain. Down with that stupid clown!

TWILIGHT SHOULD DDIE, so space marine
Nether are anime or animation. Vampires are the lamest of mythological creatures, writers lately have been hyping them up by always changing the myths around them to make them a tougher opponent.

A Space Marine might be super human, but from my experience with 40K they can still be killed. Even by an Eldar.

No bias on my part here, if you were to allow for some of the newer things writers have allowed to harm vampires. The Space Marine uses weapons that have been supposedly blessed by the Emperor of Humankind, they use them on demons all the time. Pro-tip a demon is a lot more powerful than some wimpy looking vamp. To a Space Marine he has faith in the Emperor and in his weapon, that makes his weapon much like the vamp's bane the cross as long as you have faith in it.

The Space Marine wins, only to be killed by a Predator later.

Space Wolves - Can I use regular Space Marine minis?

I have a bunch of old horribly painted Space Marine miniatures from my youth, including probably 2 or 3 regular squads, a terminator squad, a land speeder, some bikes, a dreadnought and a tank (can't remember the type of the tank). Wanting to get back into the hobby but save some money to start, and seeing as I am a much better and careful artist now, I've been stripping the paint job so I can start again.

I've been putting some thought into what chapter I want to make these Space Marines, right now I like the character of the Space Wolves but I heard Space Wolves kinda have their own thing going and have their own more specific models... does this mean I am limited from making my minis Space Wolves?

If I can't be Space Wolves, I'd like to perhaps go Salamanders or Imperial Fists, though I am still sketchy on the rules for various chapters and how their rules/requirements relate to the units you select for your army, though I am eager to get painting soon.Space Wolves - Can I use regular Space Marine minis?
There are specific Space Wolves models but it is perfectly acceptable to use generic Space Marine models instead or - you could rename that as a "successor chapter" but still use the same color scheme. For official tournaments you would need some official models (such as Ragnar Blackmane or Njal Stormcaller) but nobody would really care in friendly games.Space Wolves - Can I use regular Space Marine minis?

Warhammer 40k Space Marine Codex Help?

Im in an escalation league, and i haven't gotten a codex yet. Im playing the space marines and I just need someone to tell me exactly how many points my current list is and it would be a great help if u could list stats and anything else you think i'd need to play. (i am going to a store where people go to play, so i assume people there will know how to play, but id like to know so i don't have to ask.)

two squads of 5 space marines each, just bolters

    5 terminaters

a space marine captain, with artificer armour and two lightning claws

not the greatest list, I know, but as of now the league has a max of 525 points, and it goes up every week. Im hoping with the low number of points, having terminaters will basically win me the battle and the crappy squads of space marines wont make a difference.Warhammer 40k Space Marine Codex Help?
5 man marine squad is 90 points and you get:

sergeant with bolter and bolt pistol - he can replace either with a chainsword for free.

    4 marines with bolters

everyone gets frag and krak grenades for free

Sergeant can replace either of his bolt weapons with a combi-weapon (+10), storm bolter(+10), plasma pistol(+15), power weapon(+15), power fist(+25)

    Sergeant gets 2 attacks

    5 terminators = 200 pts

    captain =100 pts

free stuff = iron halo, frag and krak grenades

paired lightning claws = 30 pts

    articifer armour = 15pts

    total = 90 + 90 + 200 + 145 = 525

If you took a single marine squad, you'd lose a sergeant but for the same price you could then take a free flamer and you could also chose between a free missile launcher, heavy bolter or multi-melta.

You'd also have 10 pts spare to get your sergeant a stormbolter or combi-weapon instead of a bolter.

That's because a squad is 90, 5 extra marines are 80 at 16 pts each.

Combat squads allow you to split your squad up into two combat squads of 5 each.

    tactical squad one :90 points

    tactical squad 2: 90 points

    terminators: 200 points

only points changes from last codex is the captain's weapon skill has increased by one, wont say any more since that actually illegal (GW has a very strict IP policy).

PLEASE HELP me!!!!!!!Warhamer 40k space marine? HELP?
Where do I start? Terrain modeling and basing is a whole area of painting miniatures in itself.

    This should help: http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/kb.php?鈥?/a>

Check out the basing guide on The One Ring.

For glueing grass or sand to the base you can use different glues; I normally use PVA (make sure it is the waterproof type) and apply it in spots but some people use nothing but superglue.

The trick to getting a nice looking effect is to apply the grass/earth/sand in small patches:

First, start by covering the base with "earth" or something (of course it might also be rocks or sand or pavement) so there is something to see beneath the grass. When the glue is dry (if you use PVA leave it for a full 24 hours) paint it brown and drybrush it for highlights.

Note* I use Games Workshop sands because although they are monstrously expensive for such tiny little pots they are just perfect for getting a realistic effect.

Take a cocktail stick and dab a few spots of PVA glue on the base, dip it into the basing mix (grass or whatever), shake it off and leave it to dry for a couple of hours.

If there isn't enough grass dab a few more spots of PVA onto the base and repeat the process. In real life, grass tends to grow in clumps and patches so it looks more realistic when you apply it in spots.

The guide on One Ring gives in-depth tutorials on more advanced effects.Warhamer 40k space marine? HELP?
I've never painted a marine in my life, and I've never even looked at a TT figurine in real life.

But I do know a bit about painting and glue.

I don't think it's a problem; all you need, I think, is some transparent type glue. I would say super glue. Use something to smear the glue all over the base and throw on the grass.

Get a second opinion, though. Yahoo doesn't have a good TT community. Try a Warhammer 40k oriented website; even one like the Dawn of War 2 Community, or even better, Bolter and Chainsword.Warhamer 40k space marine? HELP?
I've done this in the past for Tyranids and it has completely the same aspect. Just put super glue over the base of your model, avoiding putting glue on the feet, then sprinkle some artificial grass from citadel onto the base. Tap the base so any excess grass comes off and if you want to add shrubs then I advise using the green foam that comes on the trees.

It really boils down to style of play. Are you the type of player that prefers to sit back and shoot at your opponent, using close combat as a last resort? Or do you prefer having everything mounted and racing in, guns blazing? A lot of it will also depend on which codex you plan on using, and to be perfectly honest, it's more about what you'd like to paint. There is no 'unbeatable' combination, I've seen stock Ultramarines both win and lose by large margins. I'm assuming that since you're looking at painting one of a number of different schemes, you're not using Dark Angels, Blood Angels, or Space Wolves. Those are really the only forces that have drastically different rules dedicated to them in the current edition of the rules, and everything else is sort of 'home grown.'

As an example, let's say you wanted to play a White Scars army. The paint scheme is all white, and in theory, if you stick with the fluff, everything should be either in a Rhino or on bikes. This you can accomplish just by selecting certain units out of the codex. The same codex will allow you to field an all infantry force designed for shooting, or an all infantry force designed for close combat. My suggestion would be to read the Space Marine codex, and check out the forums on Bolter and Chainsword, Bell of Lost Souls, and Dakka Dakka for more information.

Are there any 20" Space Marine figures..? (action figure if anything)?

    Hello

I'm a huge fan to Warhammer series, but I never had the resources or opportunity to purchase my own army -nor would I have anyone to play it with..

So I'm wondering if they're making single unit with different weaponry and armor pieces that you could change and put him in certain battlements? :)

And with 20" size it would be lots of details on him. Can be from any chapter, but I haven't seen any space marine figure that big with modification :(Are there any 20" Space Marine figures..? (action figure if anything)?
I can't say I know of any, the biggest I've seen are the 5" polystone statues. There might be a garage kit that would be in that scale but garage kits are for expert modelers.

i'm currently building a dark angels space marine army. i already own the dark angels codex, and i've been getting conficting info as to whether i need to get codex: space marines as well. do i need both books or only codex: dark angels?Space marine codex?
The Dark Angel Codex stands alone (and in some cases conflicts with the Marine Codex). You don't need the regular 'dex. And if you do want the regular Marine Codex, you may want to hold off on getting it - its been sounding like there might be an updated version coming out soon.

    Happy gaming!

EDIT: On seeing that someone else had a different opinion, I called the local GW store to make sure, and they agree; the Dark Angels codex is complete and stands alone.

In the previous versions you needed both, but now you just need the Codex for your chapter.

For more help, try www.warseer.com - its a great online forum for GW games.Space marine codex?
Yes, you need to get the Space Marine Codex for the basic Space Marine army building info (units available, required units and unit info). The Dark Angels codex (or any other SM Chapter codex) gives you specific info only on that chapter.

If you are loyal to a local shop, I suggest getting it there. If you aren't or just like to pay less, ebay.com has great deals on codexes. Good Luck!

To get your brain churning about name ideas, try combining different combinations of the following sorts of words:

    Metals (gold, iron, steel, etc)

    Weapons (swords, scythes, blades)

    Animals (tigers, falcons)

Adjectives/verbs fit for a battle (fury, rage, vengeance)

Add in 'of the Emperor' and such. Try a few combinations like that.

Warhammer 40k tabletop Space Marine Shoulder Pads?

i was thinking about buying some dark angel shoulder pads for my tactical marines. the metal ones from the games workshop website but im not sure how to attach them to my models. can someone tell me how to do that?Warhammer 40k tabletop Space Marine Shoulder Pads?
If the marine is a metal one that already has shoulder pads, it would be very difficult and involve a lot of chopping and filing. Not really worth it.

If the marine is one without attached shoulder pads, like the ones from the various multi-part plastic kits, you would attach them just like any of the plastic shoulder pads - attach arm in desired position, then glue on the shoulder pad. For a metal pad superglue should be used, as glues made for plastics won't work on the metal.

Can I mix chapters with the Space Marines?

Ok, so I'm new to Warhammer 40k. I play with a Space Marine Army. I notice that there are several chapters (Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Ravenwings, Black Templars, etc...). Some of these even have their own codex. Can i buy some of these and just mix em with my regular space marine army or are they a separate force by themselves? I'm confused. Can I mix chapters with the Space Marines?
There's different answers depending on what you want to do.

Marine armies (also called MEQ for "Marine Equivalent" or PA for "Power Armored" armies) have several different rule books representing different groups. Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Black Templars, and Space Marines (for the Ultramarines and pretty much everyone else). There's also Chaos Marines for the 'dark side' version. Each of these are separate rules sets, which you generally can't mix and match. There are exceptions, such as in Apocalypse games and other times when you and your friends decide you don't care about such restrictions. But generally you should only be using one codex at a time.

    HOWEVER...

If you just want to paint your figures to look like they come from different chapters (like in a "Crusade" army) but only use one set of rules you shouldn't have any problems as long as you make it clear to your opponent what set of rules you're using.

    or

Since so many of the rule sets are pretty similar and use the same base figures and vehicles, with a little planning and limited swapping out you could build a collection of figures that you could use with different rules sets, one at a time. Tuesday play as Dark Angels, Thursday as Blood Angels, Saturday as Space Wolves, etc. Again, just make it clear to your opponent about what rules you're using and what figure represents what if it isn't obvious. Can I mix chapters with the Space Marines?
Yes you can so long as the other marine units appear in your Space Marine Codex.

So you could have a squad of long fangs and another of Blood Angels, but the squads would have to conform to the rules of the normal Marine Codex and not the rules that appear in the Space Wolves or Blood Angels codices. You also couldn't use units that only appear in the other marines codices like the Furioso Dreadnought. You could however use a bunch of Space wolves sitting on giant wolves as a "counts as" unit for space marine bikes, but obviously you'd need to tell your opponent at the start of the game what they were.

You can of course have a "Blood Angels" army using their codex but paint them all as Ultramarines, it's up to you. The main thing is just using one codex at a time. Can I mix chapters with the Space Marines?
They are seperate armies and you cannot mix them but generally they are the same with only a few slight differences. The chapters are just specific forms of space marines who get some extra rules and stuff. You can use the chapter models as regular space marines. You can also use your regular marine models as the specific chapters with just some color changes.

Easy to paint, core, space marine chapter?

I want to do a space marine army that's, easy to paint, well rounded but leans slightly more to the combat side, I was thinking of the raven guard, because shrike fits nicely there, but they don't use many tanks or heavy artillery, and I really like the ironclad, and especially the master of the forge, also I always make my own army, so want to try pre made fluff for once.Easy to paint, core, space marine chapter?
why don't you make your own chapter up?? try painting scab red all over a black undercoat, then paint brown ink all over the red, it looks really good and is really fast, than pick out the details. and in the army list, u could have some units of assault marines and some tanks and tactical squads 2 back them up. also, if you are looking for a pre made chapter, try the ultramarines, they are balanced, but you could add a few of assault units. Warhammer 40k - Space Marine With A Beaked Helmet.?

Ok, I've been wondering why a boxset of space marines usually contains a single beaked space marine while the rest have gas-mask looking helmets. Is the beak a sign of authority? If so, what rank does this represent or is it a helmet to represent something else? If so, what?Warhammer 40k - Space Marine With A Beaked Helmet.?
    All wrong.

Space Marine armour, in the background of WH40k, is based on a design over 10,000 years old. With time, the armour has evolved from one mark to another. There are 8 marks of space marine armour.

Technically speaking, one can build space marines with any of marks 5, 6, 7 or 8 from the standard tac squad boxed set. However, in practice, space marine armour within chapters tends to be broken up and distributed, so that a marine may have Mk7 legs, a Mk5 breastplate and a Mk6 helmet. This is both a response to damage items and a question of reward - a courageous marine may be rewarded with a piece of armour from a suit that once belonged to an honoured chapter hero.

The beaky helmet - often referred to as "beaky marines" or "combat wombles" - comes from the Mk6 corvus design. The design is a favourite with many veterans, because it is the design that Citadel Miniatures first produced for space marines and can be seen in the very earliest metal marine miniatures, the first edition WH40k rulebook and, perhaps most importantly, the original, plastic RTB-01 boxed set that put many of us oldies onto the path of WH40k in the first place.

Jes Goodwin later updated the design to the now-iconic Mk7 design for 2nd Edition.

The beaked design is both intended to act to deflect incoming enemy shooting and also to give an avian look, echoing the aquila - the double-headed eagle that is the symbol of the post-Heresy Imperium.Warhammer 40k - Space Marine With A Beaked Helmet.?
TBH I'm not sure because I don't keep up with what's new in Warhammer. I do know that the beaked "corvus" helmet is an older design, it was used for the first Space Marine models in 1987 and is still used to represent Mk6 armor.Warhammer 40k - Space Marine With A Beaked Helmet.?
The beaked helmets, I believe, are used by assault troops-so, basically, Assault Marines (the ones jetpacks). They fly, thus they have beaked helmets (indeed, birds have great importance in 40k, as the Emperor's original sign was an Eagle, if my memory suits me correctly). That's the reason, I believe, in video games, however. I suppose with some research online you could find out the truth.

Are these the tactical marines from the Assault on Black Reach boxed set, or the multi-part models available separately? If the former, then I suggest not bothering. Chopping the integral shoulder pad off and replacing it is more trouble than it's worth. Use a Dark Angels transfer instead.

If it's the multi-part set, then I suggest you instead look at investing in the Dark Angels Chapter upgrade sprues instead:

As well as including six plastic shoulder pads, it includes a wealth of other details to add that "Dark Angels" feel to your army. Plus, there are loads of bitz you can easily put aside for use in future projects when you need them.

Space Marines and tyranids in the warhammer boardgame?

At the moment my friend has a tyranid army and I just have the basic assault on black reach one. I prefer to use the space marine army but before I start getting more space marine units, are the space marines any good against tyranids? If so, what are some strategies I could use. If they are bad against tyranids, what army is actually good against them?Space Marines and tyranids in the warhammer boardgame?
I feel it depends on your friend. If he just makes a nid army then ya the space marines can be extremely effective, but if he builds his army to fight marines you are in trouble. What I recommend for fighting nids is to get a lot of assault marines and devastators. Also put heavy weapons in your tactical squads, break them into combat squads, and have the a team with the heavy weapon and a team with a flamer and sargent. then you basically form two groups your shooty group that will stay in them back and give support and your punchy group that will charge the nids last second or just take the charge. I recommend putting your assault marines behind the main line and have them jump were they are needed most. Terminators and sternguard veterans are also really good since they are decent in close combat and are great at shooting.Space Marines and tyranids in the warhammer boardgame?
Marines can be good against nids. It really depends on how you build your army and, of course, on the tactics you use, the mission you play and the ability of the person you play against.

Generally, nid builds either go for hordes or giant monsters. Against either, a very reliable weapon is the Thunderfire Cannon - but the model is expensive and a pain to build. Equally good are assault cannons (plenty of shots to take down hordes, but rending to deal with big monsters). You can pack out an army with these, putting them in Terminator Squads, on Land Speeders, Dreadnoughts and on Land Raider Crusaders (Blood Angels get them on the Baal Predator, too, but that's not available to regular marines).

Another good marine option against nids is the Vindicator, but its short range (24") means that the tank can get swamped quickly if you don't protect it with infantry. For similar - but not as effective - longer ranged firepower, the Whirlwind is also a sound investment.

Of course, you must never forget your mission, and Tactical marines can't be ignored. But against most nid builds, tac squads are vulnerable to either swamping or simply being squashed by Carnifexes and Hive Tyrants (not to mention Trygons, Tervigons and Lictors!). So use the heavy firepower as infantry support as well, to protect those vital objective-seizers.

Is this a good warhammer 40k space marine army?

im planning to build a sm consisting of the sm megaforce pack, terminator squad and a land raider crusader. The mega force is made up of

It sounds OK. If you are just starting, focus on your main cannon fodder troops. You will gain the knowledge of how you want to play as you go along. The style of one player is completely different from that of another and you have to figure out the strengths of your tactics. Once you know how you want to play and improve your game you can invest in the next pieces. It's not about winning at the beginning, it's about noting your weaknesses and building on them.

for your black reach models, space marines and the captain go on a 28MM base (the smallest ones with the slots).

The terminator squad go in 40MM bases (the medium sized ones with the two holes in them) that peg goes into one of the holes, you choose which. the other can have those base decorations put in it (youll still have to glue it though).

and the dreadnought goes on the 60MM (the largest base), whose holes have a guide on the bottom and need to be drilled out with a knife or drillbit.

    Tanks and armor:

Any ideas? What do you have that works well against all armies?Warhammer 40k Space marine army list?
My advice would be to ditch the Command Squad as they rarely recoup their investment in points. Swap that and the Rhinos for five drop pods and switch the Dreadnought's Assault Cannon for a Multimelta. You can then put the Whirlwind and Land Raider in reserve (possibly putting a terminator squad in the Land Raider) before deploying four tac squad, the captain, the dread, at least one terminator squad and the Assault Squad by Deep Strike for a classic marine lightning assault. The Land Raider and Whirlwind.

For objective-based missions, you can deploy one or both terminator squads to contest objectives in your deployment zone and drop pods onto opposing objectives.Warhammer 40k Space marine army list?
PrecinctOmega's answer is spot on, and I would encourage voting for that as best answer - all I'd really like to add is that as an Ork and Tyranid player, I've seen the Thunderfire cannon used against me with really scary efficiency. The guy I was fighting against was relatively new to the game as well, and though he went the 'Marines on Bikes' route, his Techmarine w/ Thunderfire cannon always got my attention and really ruined my day. Good luck!

Starting a space marine army warhammer 40k?

    Hey

i whould like to get into 40k and i whould like to know what is the best order to buy things to start my army. ( i'm thinking assult on black reach then codex then battleforce then wing it from there by nessccity.)

and also any cool names for a space marine army whitch main color is blood red, then shoulders ultramarine blue and trim gold. and has a dragon on shoulder pad for chapter symbel

(second question optinal)Starting a space marine army warhammer 40k?
If you are serious about creating a whole space marine army, it would be best to start with a codex.

That's because it is usual to set a points limit on an army and the codex will give you the points cost for each unit or squad within your army.

Space marine squads are quite robust and you can vary the weapons within the squad.

A dreadnought while a bit costly points wise, is good support for footsoldiers.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Warhammer40k-Space鈥?/a>

    (Try that, if still available)

There are characters that can be included in your army (heroes, librarian, vetrans)

There are also troop transporters; jet-bikes and tanks.

    ::

So it very much depends on the type of army you want.

You could base the army on mobility or fire power.

There are characters that can be included from some other armies (eg Eldar). Worth looking into for surprise value.

Assault on black reach looks a cost effective (money-wise) way to get an army up and running.

Remember that while 2000 points seems a lot, it is easy to use them up.

(Usually Blood Angels are the red ones, so perhaps Blood Dragons or Dragon Blood)Starting a space marine army warhammer 40k?
Black reach would be good, you can even purchase new Dreadnought weapons, if you want, while a Multi-Melta is really good, it's only good vs vehicles(with the Melta special rule) but we're not going to get into that until you get a codex, as for the name, there's a name generator, look around on Google.

In the game warhammer 40,000 can you build a dark angles army if you by space marine packs?

Of course. You just don't get any of the chapter-specific gubbins with the regular space marine packs: so, no chapter shoulder pads, icons, banners, censers or suchlike.

But you can still paint regular space marines in Dark Angels green, slap a winged dagger on their shoulder and play them using the Dark Angels codex. No worries. In the game warhammer 40,000 can you build a dark angles army if you by space marine packs?
you can but you might aswell just buy dark angels. if you have problems finding a shop that will sell just what you need then check out the neerest games workshop.

p.s. space marines have different decals and logos and stuff so if you want to put decals and stuff on it is best to buy the actual dark angels box...

It will keep you entertained and if you like (or are even just interested in) the Warhammer 40k universe it is a must play.

I mean what is not to like? You play a Space Marine and kill plenty of orcs in pretty bloody ways - my expectations were met and it feels just... right. Some say it feels clunky - I say it feels like a giant of a man in heavy power armor slicing his way through hordes of enemies.

yeah go with gears 3. the story mode is supposed to be twice as long as the last 2 games, horde 2.0 has brumaks and beserkers this time, and in beast mode you get to play as tickers, wretches and beserker so it'll be awesomeSpace marine or Gears of War 3?

  • Thoughts on a female space marine? wahmmer 40k?

I am considering making a non-battle sister space marine female for my wip army, and modeling it after a friend of mine. Would the astartes have a female in their ranks?Thoughts on a female space marine? wahmmer 40k?
    Don't get me started.

No, there are no female Space Marines, only "Sisters Of Battle", although it is a 100% fact that Space Marines do not have genitals; I once (three times actually) caused an outraged response on one or two Warhammer forums by pointing out how the unrelentingly grimdark bleakness of the 40K background story would make it highly improbable that anyone would ever become a Space Marine without first having their dangly bits chopped off since it would just be a weak spot and everyone knows they don't actually do anything with it since all they do all day is sing monotonous chants while waiting for the next battle.

But anyway, if you go by the official Games Workshop 40K fluff, no there are no female Space Marines but I think the 40K stories are all crap and I don't see any reason why there couldn't be formerly lost Chapters from past millennia who no longer recognize the authority of the (corrupt) Adeptus Terra and interpret the rules in their own way; an unrecognized or rebel Chapter could have female Marines.

Who can win this fight: a vampire from twilight or a space marine libarian.?

Space Marines are genetically modified supersoldiers in the warhammer 40k universe. They know no fear and would crush anyone who dare stands in their way and glory. A libarian is a space marine with phsyic abilities making them nearly indestructable oppoents in a fight.

For more info go to warhammer wiki.com

as for vampires in twilight. they are easy to search just type in vampire on twilight saga wiki.Who can win this fight: a vampire from twilight or a space marine libarian.?
According to New Moon, as I recall a werewolf can kill a vampire. We have werewolf Space Marines; The Space Wolves.

Besides that, the Librarians can obliterate the vampire with his mind, destroy it's body with his holy bolter; and based on what I've been able to tell is stronger, smarter, and faster.
id say tht space marine thingy...IMBAAA

i'll ressurect mr.cullen tho :DWho can win this fight: a vampire from twilight or a space marine libarian.?
Well as long as they are not 14 year old girl space marines then I think the vamps will be dusted.
Pretty much anything can win any fight versus a twilight vampire.

Unless it's a fight over 14 year old girls.Who can win this fight: a vampire from twilight or a space marine libarian.?
    1st thing
I'd say it was pretty much an even fight ..

One is a plastic, painted minature

One is a character created and established on paper

    Your call.
Hey nothing sucks more than being a libarian, not even a vampire....you can book it.
I have near-about no info on the whole Space Marine Libarian thing, but in any case, I always vote against Stephenie's vampires.
Both will just die on the spot, one from over genetic modification till their internal functions like breathing and basically living break down when they're born.

Another from being so retardedly gay, SPARKLY SKIN IN SUNSHINE? WTF MAN, LAY OFF THE LIPGLOSS!
Death ya best be quiet cause i will find you and shove potatos up ya nose!!!!( and other places ) -U-my money on edward i mean he has to be ripped up and burned. hes so fast that ya can't catch him.
I get this weird feeling that this question was rigged. You advocated Space Marines quite a bit the Librarians in your fight. As for the answer; it'd be a Space Marine. The way I look at it, the Librarian doesn't even need his powers. Vampires may not be able to be killed by conventional methods, but a bolter shell isn't conventional. Like shooting a semi-auto rocket gun. Like bloody.
    The space marine

Power sword in Warhammer 40k Space Marine?

I have the code to unlock it, but where do i type it in?Power sword in Warhammer 40k Space Marine?
There's no code for that. You have to buy the game Kill Team and pass the first level on the same account.

Preorder codes either give you armor sets or gold versions of the chain sword or bolter.

Edit: just noticed your on PC, so not sure if the info is the same. The info I gave was for PS3, but I'm pretty sure you have to still have Kill Team for the PC to get the power sword.

Warhammer 40k: Can you put duels on a space marine?

I was wondering if i am allowed to put duels on a space marine. Really i just want to use a plasma pistol and one of those small bolters but i was also wondering if you could put any other kinds of combinations on space marines. Could you possibly put 2 chainswords on them or 2 plasma pistols and if so what are the benefits? and if i put a plasma pistol and a mini bolter on one can i use both in one turn or just choose to use whichever fits the situation best? ThanksWarhammer 40k: Can you put duels on a space marine?
You can do it, however you will need to ask your opponents permission to use the model that way, since its not official. In some respects you could do it within the realm of the rules, such as adding two chainswords to an assault marine, which counts as having 2 close combat weapons anyways (sword + pistol)., you would be putting yourself at a disadvantage by denying yourself the pistol however.

PS- By "mini-bolter" i assume you mean bolt pistol, yes?

Space wolves and Blood Angels are more of a rush-the-enemy type of army. Dark Angels are good at holding the line. Black Templars are more of a mobile armor army. Ultramarines are a bit of everything. As for iconography, this link http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Space_Ma鈥?/a> will show you the standards of each legion as well as a history.

  • What games are better Resistance 3,Gears Of War 3 or Space Marine?

Which game is the best? Any help would be greatWhat games are better Resistance 3,Gears Of War 3 or Space Marine?
Gears of War 3 features four-player co-op for the first time in the series. A fully controllable mech suit, called a Silverback, will be available for use in certain parts of the game, armed with a machine gun and rocket launcher. They have two operating modes, in assault mode it is controlled like a standard character, in stationary mode, they lock into position and deploy their armor, as well as cover for other Gears from their legs.

The player will once again play as Marcus Fenix, although at several points throughout the game, control will change to other characters.

There will be several new Locust enemies in the game, including the Savage Grenadier, the Savage Theron, the Digger Boomer, the Locust Siege Beast and the Kantus Knight, as well as the return of the Berserkers (both ordinary as well as Lambent). Additionally, the game introduces the new Lambent enemies, such as Drudges, Polyps, and Lambent Stalks. There will also be new weapons; the Retro Lancer (a lancer with a blade bayonet attachment), the Digger Launcher (a gun that launches small digging creatures through the ground at high speeds that explode), the Sawed-off Shotgun, Incendiary Grenades, the One Shot (a heavy sniper rifle that, as the name suggests, kills enemies in a single shot) and the butchers machete.

Four new playable female characters will be introduced: Samantha Byrne, Anya Stroud, Queen Myrrah, and Bernadette Mataki, a character from the Karen Traviss novels. Other new playable characters include Jace Stratton, a battle-hardened soldier who appears in the comic series and is mentioned in the second game, and Griffin, leader of a group of human survivors called the Stranded. Hip-hop star Ice-T will voice the character of Griffin, while actress Claudia Black will be the voice of Samantha.

There will also be an enhanced progression system with players able to gain experience and level up through all modes, including the campaign.
just finished resistance 3 this morning. and it was epic start to finish.

hw, it's very hard to compare these gaes to one another, becuase they provide vastly different experiences. but here's my two cents:

gears' gameplay is slower than a chess match between quadriplegics. i just cant see what the appeal is(besides the gore). the narrative in the first game was mediocre at best(only got through the tutorial in 2 before i got rid of my 360). i guess the online is entertaining, i don't have anything to add for it, since i refused to pay for live.

resistance 3, isn't just the best game in the resistance series, it's one of the best FPS games to come out in a looooong time. great story that takes alot of twists and turns. amazing control, and(arguably) the best weapons in the buisness. plus, the more you use a particular weapon, the more deadly it becomes. graphics are phenomenal, voice acting, pacing, you name it. RES3 is a tour-de-force.

space marine isn't like either game, it's a hack and slash/shooter hybrid. and from what i hear is very entertaining, if not deep. so, it's really going to depend on what kind of style of game you want. if you like FPS, get resistance. if you like more hack and slash get warhammer, if cover based shooting, with a character that moves as though he's towing a boat anchor is your thing, then get gears. What games are better Resistance 3,Gears Of War 3 or Space Marine?
    neither

well ok space is a gears rip off and resist seems to have negative buzz coz its just an average fps

gears should be best but personally i dont like it coz chest high walls are boring and repetative in action games.

cover is only good in stealthy games, rainbow six vagas had its swat tactics that made it one of the best games eva
RESISTANCE 3 IS ONE OF THE BEST FPS I PLAYED THIS YEAR. IF YOURE LOOKING FOR ONLINE GAMING GO FOR GOW. IF YOU WANT A GAME WITH A GOOD CAMPAIGN GO FOR R3. IF YOU LOOKIN FOR A HACK N SLASH GAME GO WITH SPACE MARINE. GOW AND R3 ARE BOTH GREAT GAMES AND I DONT THINK EITHER ONE WILL DISAPPOINT YOU. NOT TO SURE ABOUT SM........GOOD LUCK.What games are better Resistance 3,Gears Of War 3 or Space Marine?

What is the "best" Chaos Space Marine HQ choice?

Ok, so im getting into warhammer 40k and i am buying the Chaos Space Marince battleforce, but i cant decide which HQ to choose....any suggestions? I am leaning towards Abaddon the Despoiler at the moment....thanks for any helpWhat is the "best" Chaos Space Marine HQ choice?
Abbadon is good, but highly expensive, and he needs other terminators to make it across the field and/or a Land Raider as well. This combined unit(abby, termies, LR) runs around 750pts. So I would save abby for big games. Now when you do field that unit.... oh dear it is nasty.

In games under 1500pts I would say a sorcerer with one power(wind of chaos, warptime, and doombolt are reliable), or a simple lord. I would just stick with a basic lord that can join a squad. If you want to keep him cheap throw on a power weapon and maybe one of the marks. Or throw on a jump pack for a flying death dealer. Terminator armor is also good, but like with abby he really needs other terminators to be effective. Demon weapons can be interesting, but are also very frustrating.

Over 1500pts. Demon Prince w/ wings. Only psychic power I consider on these guys is warptime, makes them even more of a close combat monster.... literally. Marks are not a bad idea either. Lords and sorcerers often need troops to compliment them. Demon princes are fine on their own, but it is good if you have some transports they can hide behind to get up the field alive.

I say wait till 1500pts for a demon prince because in smaller games these guys can be hard to take down. Good for you, but it won't be as enjoyable for your opponent. And for fluff/story purposes it makes no sense why a powerful demon prince would be leading around such a small force.

    Hope that helps.

What is the easiest technique to paint a halved colour scheme space marine army?

im painting mine enchanted blue on the left and skull white on the right side of each space marine :-)What is the easiest technique to paint a halved colour scheme space marine army?
Start with the Enchanted Blue and paint from the inside out. Paint a line of blue down the centre as a guide and paint away from it so you don't get blue brush strokes on the white side.

Don't use pure Skull White unless you want a really glaring white effect, it's usually better to start with Fortress Grey and work it up to a final highlight of pure white: fortress grey %26gt; 50/50 grey+white %26gt; white with a touch of grey %26gt; skull white.

Though I'm NOT familiar with "Games Workshop" paints specifically, I've been building models for 34+ years, and the spray primers I use (Testors, Tamiya, etc) take about 1-2 hours to dry to the TOUCH, but should be allowed to dry 24 hours before applying paint over them.

    GOOD LUCK

What changes has there been to the new space marine codex?

Instead of buying the new codex, im trying to find the differences from the old one and the new one. All i know is that points of an attack bike was change to 40 from 50What changes has there been to the new space marine codex?
There were a lot of changes... I'll try to think of some off the top of my head

    1. The war gear system is different. You can no longer select any equipment you want for heroes - all possibilities are listed in the army list entry...

    2. There are now two distinct veteran squads - Vanguard squads (close combat - assault marines with power weapons and other goodies) and Sternguard squads (marines with special bolter ammunition)

    3. There are no more chapter traits. Instead, there are chapter tactics - you can take heroes that bestow benefits on your entire army. You can now take certain Space Marine heroes in any chapter army (e.g. I could play Ultramarines and take a Salamanders hero)

    4. There are new units. Honour guard squads are no longer ultramarines-only. Land Raider Redeemer is new, a Land Raider with Str. 6 AP 3 flamers and an assault cannon. The Thunderfire cannon is a piece of Space Marine artillery, and it is the longest range in a codex army (sixty inches)

    5. The way you select and arm tactical squads has changed. You now take five men for 90 points, and an additional 16 points for every Space Marine. The points increase is due to the fact that Tactical marines now have Krak and Frag Grenades as standard equipment, as well as a bolt pistol. This is a huge improvement, as you can fire your bolt pistol and then charge - in the older codex, you couldn't fire your bolters and charge. In addition to this, only squads numbering ten models can take special/heavy weapons for most Space Marine units. Terminators can take one weapon per five men.

    6. With most space marine squads, you now have the "combat squads" rule. This means that you can take a ten-man squad and break it into two five-man units when you deploy them - so for sixty marines you could have 6 ten-man squads or 12 five-man squads.

    7. Space Marines can now choose to automatically fail any morale check they have to take - this is called "Combat Tactics", and is usually replaced by Chapter Tactics if you take a character. But I wouldn't, because that ability is actually quite useful.

    8. Librarians have new powers. The most interesting one allows you to take him off the table and move him with Deep Strike up to 24" away - along with a squad, of course.

    9. I think the rules for Drop Pod Assault have been changed.. You now automatically place half of your drop pods on the table on turn one without rolling for deep strike. But I'm not sure what the rules were before the fifth edition.

There are a billion more changes, but I can't think of them at the moment... I highly suggest purchasing the new codex. It was really worth it.

Predator or Whirlwind for my 1000 space marine army?

I have 3 tactical squads (10 each) a dreadnought, a terminator squad (5) and a scout squad with sniper rifles, and i have 85 points left, i was considering either a predator with auto cannon and heavy bolter sponsons (i think its called predator destructor) or the whirlwind with no extra wargear, im not sure what exactly supports my army better. any advice would be helpful including maybe a vehicle / squad like devistators i may have overlooked. Thank you.Predator or Whirlwind for my 1000 space marine army?
the predator seems like it would be more versatile

Is this a good 1500 point Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine army?

My army consists of 1 Terminator Epistolary Librarian, 10 Terminators, 3 Tactical Squads of 10 Space Marines, 3 Rhinos and 2 Vindicators. Is this a good 1500 point army. By the way, I love to play Cities Of Death, so would this be a suitable army? If you have any other good 1500 point army lists, tell me. Thanks and all ideas are open. Is this a good 1500 point Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine army?
Sounds like a pretty solid list. When the new codex is released, you might want to add a special character in place of the Librarian to benefit from the Chapter Tactics rules. You might also like to have a menu of alternatives to the second Vindicator: Vanguard or Sternguard elites are looking seriously cool. A Devastator squad is a really flexible Heavy Support choice. Or you might like to invest in some of the new stuff like a Scout Biker squad or a Land Speeder Storm with on-board scouts.

The other thing to look at is the possibility of swapping out the Rhinos for the new plastic drop-pods.

How do you use some of the ork's and space marine's abilities in warhammer 40k?

How do u use the Warboss's Waaag! ability and what abilities do the nobs and boyz have? and how doe's the SM captain's ability work. and please dont tell me to look in a codex. i don't have one yet and i just want to know how to use the abilities until i get themHow do you use some of the ork's and space marine's abilities in warhammer 40k?
Well for a start, other than the standard Ork special rules about mob checks, Nobs and Boyz don't have any other abilities beyond their weapons and stat line.

The Waaagh! is an ability that can be used once per battle. When the Warboss declares a Waaagh! all Ork units may move an additional D6" in the movement phase (and may still run or assault, but not both) and gain +1 Strength in the Assault phase. If you time a Waaagh! just right it can win the battle for you.

Space Marine captains have the "Combat Tactics" special rule. This allows any Space Marine unit that must take a morale test to choose to fail it. This may not seem terribly useful (and isn't anything like as useful as the old "Rites of Command" special rule) but it essentially gives marines who are losing a combat the chance to break away and then either run away (sorry, "perform a tactical withdrawal") or charge back in (with that vital extra +1 attack) in their next turn. Of course, you still have to make your roll to break away and you run the risk of your withdrawing space marines being caught in a sweeping advance, but them's the breaks.

You really should buy the codex ASAP, though. Generally speaking, stores, clubs and certainly tournaments won't let you play unless you have the relevant codex. How do you use some of the ork's and space marine's abilities in warhammer 40k?

How to convert a space marine dreadnought to a chaos space marine dreadnought?

hey im gettign the assualt on black reach set for christmas and i already have an 800 point chaos army. i wanted to convert the dreadnought from AOBR to a chaos one but i havent been able to find any walktroughs for it, if anytone has any ideas could you please help out? thx =)How to convert a space marine dreadnought to a chaos space marine dreadnought?
Yeah, black, or whatever color depending on the Chaos god you're talking about. For instance, Nurgle might be puke green/brown/gross colors...Tzeentch might be bright neon blue and pink (the worse it hurts your eyes, the more Tzeentch it is)...Khorne would be black and blood red...Can't remember the other one. Then just put chaos symbols and bits on it. You could also chop heads off some old minis and attach them to the DN. It's not really a step-by-step process - just make it look Chaos-y.How to convert a space marine dreadnought to a chaos space marine dreadnought?
my solution? paint it black and put a couple symbols of your Chaos god of choice on the sides. it makes perfect sense that the Chaos space Marines would steal them from the Space Marines and repaint them even before they became truly tainted by chaos.

it's not the most amazing conversion in the world, but if you don't have any inspiration to make it really look good no point in destroying the model for some half formed idea.
